Alix Davis: ceramic artist

I am a Toronto-based artist creating ceramic tableware that speaks of many years of use, as in beautifully prepared food served to generations of appreciative diners in calm settings.

In my recent work I am investigating classic, historical shapes and decoration. Leaving exposed traces of the clay body that supports the glaze acknowledges the underlying material structure, as well as implying traces of wear.
